How we keep your child's photos safe
Herobook was started by a parent who wouldn't hand over their own kid's photos without these rules. These are pictures of your child, and we treat them that way. Every line below is a promise.
Nothing until you order
Right now, signing up takes only your email. We don't ask for any photos until you order a book.
Never stored
We use your child's photos once to draw them, then delete them. They're never saved on our servers or in our database. How our drawing partner handles them, and why, is in our privacy policy.
Only for your book
Your child's photos are used to draw their character, and nothing else. Never shared, sold, posted, or used in ads.
Never used for training
The companies whose models we use are barred by contract from training on anything we send. Who they are, with links to their own terms, is in our privacy policy.
Your book, deleted on schedule
All we keep is the drawing of your child and your book's pages, only for as long as it takes to make it. We delete them automatically 30 days after your book ships, or the moment you ask.

When can I order?
Herobook is launching soon. Tap "Get Herobook", pick a version and leave your email. Nothing is charged today, and we'll email you the day it opens, with your price held.
Why $37.99?
Popular personalized picture books cost about $35 to $60, and most charge for shipping. Most change the name or let you pick a cartoon look. Herobook draws the child from their own photos, writes the story around what they love, and ships free. You see every page before we print.
Is there a paperback?
Yes. The same book with a soft cover is $22.99, with free US shipping. Choose it at checkout.
How is each book made?
You send two photos and answer five questions. Our software draws the child in the book's picture style and builds the story around what they love. Then we print it and ship it to you.
Can I send it as a gift?
Yes. We can ship it straight to a grandchild, niece, nephew or friend. If it's for someone else's child, please use photos their parent has said you can use.
What happens to the photos?
We never store them. We use them once to draw the child's character, then delete them. They're never shared and never used for training. All we keep is the drawing and the book's pages, and we delete those 30 days after the book ships. How we keep them safe, and the full details are in our privacy policy.
What if something isn't quite right?
You'll see the whole book before anything is printed. Change any line, or ask us to redraw a page. Nothing prints until you approve it.
What ages is it for?
Kids about 3 to 8. Tell us how well they read and we'll match the words to their level.
Where do you ship?
Anywhere in the US, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and military addresses, and shipping is free. We don't ship outside the US yet.
